Privacy Policy
What we collect and why
Written in plain English, because a policy nobody can read protects nobody.
Who we are
This site is run by Vortex Martial Arts, 15390 Hwy 29, Suite 301, Liberty Hill, TX 78642. If you have a question about anything here, call or text 512-688-0445 or use the contact form.

What we collect
When you fill in a form
Our enquiry and free tour forms ask for your first and last name, email address, phone number, which program you are interested in, and anything you type into the message box. We ask for these because we cannot call you back without them. You choose what to type, and nothing on this site requires you to submit a form at all.
When you just read the site
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read. It records the pages you view, roughly where you are (city level, worked out from your IP address), your browser and device type, and whether you arrived from a search engine, a link, or an ad. It sets a cookie on your device to tell repeat visits apart. It does not tell us your name.
You can turn this off. Use the cookie notice when it appears, or the Cookie settings link at the bottom of any page. We store that choice on your own device and honour it immediately.
Automatically, by the servers
The site is delivered by Cloudflare, which keeps short-term security logs including IP addresses. These exist to block attacks and keep the site up.
Text messages
If you tick the box consenting to text messages, we may send you texts about your enquiry, class times, schedule changes, events, and offers from the academy. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving them. Reply HELP for help, or call us on 512-688-0445.
Consent to receive texts is not a condition of buying anything from us, and you can book a tour or join without it.We do not sell, rent, or share your phone number or SMS consent with anyone for their own marketing. Mobile information is shared only with the service providers listed below who help us send the messages, and they may not use it for their own purposes.
Ticking the box is not required. Leave it unticked and we will simply call or email you instead.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information. We use a small number of companies to run the academy, and your information reaches them only so they can do that job:
- Spark Membership receives enquiry and tour form submissions and stores them as our member and lead records.
- Google Analytics counts visits and tells us which pages get read. Can be turned off from the cookie notice.
- Cloudflare hosts and delivers the site and keeps short-term security logs.
- Amazon Web Services carries email sent on our behalf by Spark, including delivery and bounce handling.
- Microsoft 365 runs our own email, so anything you send us lands there.
We will also hand over information if the law requires it, for example a court order.
Children
Most of our students are children, and this website is written for their parents and guardians. It is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13 through this site. The forms are meant to be filled in by an adult.
Information about an enrolled child, such as their name, age, and belt rank, is collected in person at the academy when you enrol, not through this website. If you believe a child has submitted information here, contact us and we will delete it.
Seeing, correcting, or deleting your information
Ask us and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. There is no form to fill in and no fee. Call or text 512-688-0445, or use the contact form and say what you want done.
We aim to come back to you within 30 days. If you ask us to delete everything, note that we may need to keep records connected to an active membership, a payment, or a signed waiver.
To opt out of Google Analytics everywhere rather than just on this site, Google publishes a browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information we will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant we will say so on the site rather than expecting you to notice.
